To cook Moong Dal, rinse 500g of dal thoroughly. In a pot, add the dal with 3-4 cups of water. Bring it to a boil, then simmer for 20-25 minutes until soft. Add salt and turmeric. For flavor, temper with ghee, cumin, and garlic. Serve hot.
